Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Unconformity onto the Satnala Shale Fm at the top of the Pengnaga Gr

Upper contact

Overlain by Venkatpur Sandstone Fm of sand dunes

Regional extent

Approximately coeval with Nambi Breccia Fm and the following Doli Sandstone Fm in Pranhita-Godavari east basin. The sandstone-dominant successions Mancheral Quartzite Fm and Kapra Sandstone Fm are considered to be lateral equivalents of the Encharani Quartzite.
